#Scots in the fediverse - please sign this petition and pass it on.

The Parliament in London has reaffirmed the Claim of Right - that the people of Scotland are sovereign, as it underpins the Acts of Union 1707.

If the Scottish Parliament implements the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, then another IndyRef could be held by public demand and the result recognised internationally.

Petitions - The Scottish ParliamentPetition: Implement the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) in Scottish legislationCalling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to ensure that, prior to the next Holyrood parliamentary election, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) is given full legal effect in the devolved law making process.

Interesting to consider those old Tony Benn power and democracy questions applied to English MPs, from Scotland's point of view:

“What power have you got?”
83% control over all non-devolved issues in Scotland

“Where did you get it from?”
A 318-year-old treaty

“In whose interests do you use it?”
My constituents in England

“To whom are you accountable?”
My constituents in England

“How do we get rid of you?”
You can't

It has been so long since those #SNP leaders were arrested that: I can't remember what they were arrested for; nor can I be certain of their names.

However, I am confident that these arrests were done to thwart the claim for #indyref2, and, further, this delay, this protraction, has supremely taken the edge off that call.

Westminster has achieved its mission with the collapse of the SNP vote share. They should close the cases.
