The Big Smoke - a 12% ABV whiskey stout from Dublin's Rascals Brewing in collaboration with Dubliner Whiskey.
While disappointingly low on actual smoke, it's a lush and smooth stout oozing with dark chocolate, vanilla and bourbon sweetness.

Northern Ireland is one of the most restrictive places in Western Europe to run a brewery. A few days ago Belfast brewery Bullhouse Brew Co posted an excellent end of year review. Give it a read if you haven't already done so. The reflections at the end of the piece are particularly interesting
