This will make me unpopular. I like Chris Hansen’s work catching predators. However, the case of 61 yr old Vincent bothers me. Hansen even admits that Vincent is intellectually impaired but treats him like any other predator. The guy barely has a life and is very developmentally challenged. I don’t think this gives Vincent a pass, but there has to be something that can be done to help him. #JusticeReform

As a former public defender and technologist, I really like the spirit of this bill.
TL;DR: The Justice in Forensic Algorithms Act, would allow defendants to access the source code of software used to analyze evidence in their criminal trials. The bill also calls for the creation of testing standards for forensic algorithms and aims to address concerns about bias and transparency in the criminal justice system.
