A few days ago, I mentioned that government officials are using Facebook, the same way they are using Signal. In that post, I noted that, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is likely not alive and well.

Sometime yesterday, that seem to have been all but confirmed. These people are not going to jail in El Salvador, rather, they are being sent there to die, well outside the view of the public's knowledge.

Dr Philip Polkinghorne is the latest in a long line of convicted criminals who fit the image of 'respectable citizen', not the reactionary caricature of what "criminals" look like (poor, underemployed, brown, etc);

Yet these inaccurate "law and order" stereotypes persist. Why? Implicit bias. The same bias allows governments to cancel programs based on researched evidence for the causes of crime, in favour of 3 Strikes approaches.
