#JohnCleese seems to think his character, Reg, in #LifeOfBrian is the sole voice of reason. John Cleese does not watch his own movies, because Reg is a cowardly, self important, twat. Also, Reg does actually come around on the issue Cleese was spouting off on, and in a rare show of humanity is eventually affirming of a specific character.

My apple tree needs a haircut. Today is a good day to start. Beautiful sun and about 10 C. The sounds of the constant flocks of Canada Geese heading north just add to the beauty.

Any ideas out there for a goner like me as far as an anime costume? The charity where I volunteer is having an anime market. I'm doing photography and I thought it would be fun to show up as some anime figure. I'd love some ideas, please. Thanks!

Me, right now. Dentist crap all over. Sake in a wine glass. Hockey and Little Caesar's pizza. Alone but happy.

Root canal done! He did it all in one visit, originally two. The government plan paid a decent portion. Lying on those incredibly comfortable dentist chairs really helped my sore back. The first time he raised it to get an X-ray, I thought my body was going to split in half. I'm sure it's stress so now the pain should disappear.

My day so far: Second shingles shot, 7.37 KM walk in 4 sections, a pleasant ride on the subway and a hair trim on the last leg going home from said subway. Bonus? I didn't have to pay for the 2nd shingles shot. They said since I had the first one in December when it was covered, the second would be free. Phew! Glad I didn't have to pay for three days of shoulder ouch. Root canal tomorrow. Stay tuned...

My dentist couldn't see what was causing the pain in my tooth, other than a tiny space at the bottom of one root. So, tomorrow at 10 I get to see the root canal guy. He'll let me/us know if a root canal is even possible. If not, maybe an implant is the solution.

I cold make a career out of helping people at Kennedy Station. An old lady yesterday, stroke victim but bright and funny as hell. She need help with the curbs as she headed to the stairs down to the subway. This morning I directed a foreign student over to a diploma mill on Midland, led he part of the way. Now I'm on my way to the dentist to see what my destiny is. Root canal? Hope not. That's the life of Brian for today.

I've never seen this version of Conway Twitty's 'Hello Darlin''. It's very well done and live, no lip sync. My late buddy Ron always greeted me with the title. He said he'd met Twitty but Ron said he'd met everyone. I once kept a list of all the people he said he'd met. But he was generous to a fault.

One New Year's Revolution (yes, I know. But that's how I say it.) is to read a short story every day. I read in bed, if you can call Tale of Genji reading, but I also write a bit. Let's see what short stories are like, I said. I've written a few, maybe more are in the works. We'll see in 365 days what comes up.
