Sometimes you start darning something and realize it can’t be saved.
Once I got the darning egg under the holes of this linen top from Sportscraft, it was apparent that there was a structural issue with the fabric. The line of weakened fabric went all the way across, from seam to seam. Same with another hole.
As I moved my darning egg across the fabric, at every centimeter I found another spot that would probably go at the next wash. So, instead of being repaired, it’s going to fabric recycling. Really disappointing; I have much older shirts from Sportscraft that are still in great shape.
People who know more about fabric than I do: does this mean that the fabric is made of short-staple linen fibre?
