Wealthy, highly industrialized countries and powerful corporate actors are the ones most responsible for the #ClimateCrisis, whilst, across the world, the #HumanRights of those least responsible are being severely undermined by #LossAndDamage.

New #COP29 climate finance text is out. A vague $1.3T target with no teeth, $250B in debt-creating finance, 0 commitment to end fossil fuels & no mention of #HumanRights nor #LossAndDamage. Rich countries are dodging climate responsibilities & vulnerable nations will again pay the price.

Good to see nation states working together. This past #ElNino has affected 60 million people directly in SouthWest #Africa with the effects of the drought and 5 millions with floods in the East. The incoming #LaNina turns the table: West Southern Africa will flood and the East run dry.
