The decision by MCC to allow this year’s Cowdrey Lecture to be given by the BBC’s TMS presenters, one of whom was abusive to Jonathan Liew and also a gatekeeping piece of trash, another a blatant cheerleader for players managed by the company he is involved with, is mind buggering.

Neither deserves a place at that stage giving that lecture.

It’s a promotion of mediocrity, of the status quo and relegates what once a keynote thing in the cricket world to little more than another cricket podcast with the same old in jokes.

I've already said that the #Niners should pack it in & call it as season after they lost to the #Bills this past Sunday but that was b4 it was reported that #McC sustained another injury & will be out for the remainder of the season.🤦

So, now, the Niners really should call it quits. Rest the regulars who aren't already on IR to avoid further injuries, play the 2nd & 3rd string to give them experience & start planning for who to draft or trade for to fix the obvious problems on both sides of the line.

The #Niners lost 10-35 to the #Bills tonight & IMO they are TOAST!! 🫣

With this loss they fall to 5-7 with 5 games left to play, 2 games behind the #Seahawks at 7-5, with 5 games left in the season but their season is done.

It's over!!!! ☹️

Even if they could make the playoffs, they won't go far, so treat the rest of the season like the preseason.

Rest the regulars to protect them from (further or any) injuries. Play the 2nd & 3rd string players to give them experience.

And, in the meantime, prepare for a MAJOR rebuild of the entire #Defense -- the #DLine as well as the #backfield-- which truly SUCKS and also a retool of the #OLine which needs to improve in its protection of #Purdy & making holes for #McC & the other backs.

This involves a no holds bared analysis of what,'s wrong on both sides of the ball, & finding the right players to fill the holes via the draft & thru trades & the sooner the Niners' get on this the better.

Somehow the Niners beat the #Bucs 23-20. 🤷‍♂️

I was busy yesterday & didn't watch the game live & only watched the TDs & final FG off of the DVR. Honestly, I wouldn't have watched any of it if they had lost.

Obviously the return of #McC & #Jennings didn't fix the Niners' #RedZone problem & the return of Moody was definitely a mixed bag.

Moody was 3 for 6 in FGAs. 💩

The few FG attempts that I saw Moody kick were shanked to the right. Even the "winning" FG was shanked to the right, just not as much as the others, so that it was able to clear the right goal post by a few inches. 🤦‍♂️

Moody better spend some more time on the practice field to get his kicks straightened out. 🙏

The only thing that continues to impress me is how #Purdy continues to perform well w/o the best O & D players on the field.

We're lucky to have him but he can't carry the team on his own & the Niners need to fix a lot of 💩 if they expect to make the playoffs, let alone advance to the #SuperBowl again.

I’m off to Lords, the home of #cricket, tomorrow to watch my local club’s U15 girls play in the National T20 Final. 🏏

It’s a huge achievement for our little village and richly deserved by our incredibly talented young ladies.

26 years ago I was part of the mens team who managed to do the same in the National Village Knock Out.

Tomorrow will be the second time in our club’s 165 year history that we’ve got to Lords.
