One group of people believes that #LLMs and #AI in general is the absolute downfall of society, while another group believes that AI is the true Savior of humanity. This may come as a shock to people, but the middle ground is a concept that does exist. In this day and age, surely it wouldn't kill people to be a little less extremest. #LLM #ML

OMG, I just came across a podcast called Flesh and Code about people having relationships with LLMs on platforms like Replika. R/Replika has over 80K members! It’s both sad and wild. Maybe because I’ve been playing with dumb LLMs since GPT-2 and understand how they work better than average people, LLMS never really worked for me. lol Since Grok on X now has a porn companionship feature that anyone 12+ can access, I guess things can get worse from here. #LLM #ML #AI reddit.com/r/replika/

There are no instructions. You must play the game to discover controls, rules, and goal.

ARC-3, a sneak peek at the next-gen, interactive reasoning benchmark designed to illuminate the capability gap between today's AI and tomorrow's AGI.

Interactive Reasoning Benchmarks (IRBs) test for a broad scope of capabilities:

• Exploration
• Percept -> Plan → Action
• Memory
• Goal Acquisition
• Alignment

Game Design Constraints

• Easy for humans (can pick it up in <1 min of game play)
• Core Knowledge Priors (no language, trivia, cultural symbols)
• Should require no instructions to play
• Should be fun for humans and playable in 5-10 minutes
• Innovative and novel game mechanics encouraged (Hidden state, theory of mind, long term planning, navigating other agents, etc.)

What is 'AI'?

Klerphell rejected any criticism of the lack of institute oversight:

"These researchers were using a very common technique, now applied in industry and government, where LLMs are used for advice.

"Up to now there was no evidence to suggest that taking advice from a collection of documents randomly compiled from the Internet could be harmful" Klerphel stated. He went on to say "We checked with our AI ethics system and it said this was permitted under the Khitomer Accords. It is industry practice for consultants to copy random bits of information from wherever they can find it. It would be prohibitively expensive for them to check the sources, or verify the information is accurate. Consulting companies can't afford to employ experts in every field. AI is simply making that process more efficient."

Study Reveals Basing Advice on a Random Collection of Documents from the Internet is not a Good Idea

Dateline Canberra, 14 July 2025: The Link institute mourned the loss of two of its leading researchers today. Professor Klerphell praised colleagues Dr Gumbie and Professor Gullable:

"These brave scientists gave their lives this week, in the cause of science. Researching cures for indigestion, through the use of Large Language Models, the researchers fell victim to their experimental technique. Asking a leading LLMs for chemical formulae which might treat common stomach upsets, they were fatally poisoned by one of their trial compounds."

#GPUHammer is the first attack to show #Rowhammer bit flips on #GPU memories, specifically on a GDDR6 memory in an #NVIDIA A6000 GPU. Our attacks induce bit flips across all tested DRAM banks, despite in-DRAM defenses like TRR, using user-level #CUDA #code. These bit flips allow a malicious GPU user to tamper with another user’s data on the GPU in shared, time-sliced environments. In a proof-of-concept, we use these bit flips to tamper with a victim’s DNN models and degrade model accuracy from 80% to 0.1%, using a single bit flip. Enabling Error Correction Codes (ECC) can mitigate this risk, but ECC can introduce up to a 10% slowdown for #ML #inference workloads on an #A6000 GPU.

"Like catastrophic brain damage"

"The move comes in response to an attack a team of academic researchers demonstrated against Nvidia’s RTX #A6000, a widely used #GPU for high-performance computing that’s available from many cloud services. A vulnerability the researchers discovered opens the GPU to Rowhammer, a class of attack that exploits physical weakness in DRAM chip modules that store data."
