Springtime Magic of Golden Hour

We're turning our clocks an hour forward this night, which means the evenings will be brighter now and the Sun will set later. I'm so happy about this change; it feels much more like Summer already! Another bonus is later golden hours without needing to hurry going out right as work ends

These golden hour snowdrop photographs were taken exactly in this scenario - as work ended, I hurried out to catch the last of the golden hour. With no time to spare, I managed to get the gorgeous golden orb bokeh in the background of these spring photographs

Found a Syrphus enjoying the flowers of Berberis aquifolium! These hoverflies are amazing pollinators and a welcome sight in the garden. Love seeing nature at work!

The photo is a close-up of a white Amaryllis flower. At the top left is the large, open calyx of the flower with the stamens and yellow anthers. The inside of the calyx is green. The flower takes up most of the photo and is facing top left. You are looking into it. At the bottom right is a piece of the thick green stem.

Another close up of the Amaryllis but now from the side. Although you can still look a little inside the flower. On the right the stem with two large buds on it. The flower itself is directed to the top left. You can now see the side of the white flower with green at the bottom near the calyx.

Bis die wieder blühen, vergehen hoffentlich nur noch ein paar wenige Tage: Die Kleinen Knabenkräuter. Gehören zu den am frühesten blühenden wildwachsenden Orchideen in unseren Breiten. Die hier habe ich vor Ewigkeiten aufgenommen. Im April 2010 mit meiner geliebten Sigma SD14 und dem guten 150mm f2.8 Makro. Das waren noch Zeiten. Mit dem nervigen Winkelsucher rumhantieren, vermisse ich eindeutig nicht. ;)
