The Life of Brian<p>'Maigret' is on Kanopy, two free episodes. I watched the first last evening. Rowan Atkinson doesn't have many lines so he has to use his face for acting purposes. Pretty good, all in all. My dad loved Simenon's books. Nick<p>Very sad to hear that the great Irish actor <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MichaelGambon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MichaelGambon</span></a> has died at the age of 82.</p><p>An extremely charismatic, likeable and effortless actor, for a lot of people he will be remembered as Albus Dumbledore or for his work with Dennis Potter or Peter Greenaway, or onstage in Beckett and Pinter plays.</p><p>But for me, he’s always <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Maigret" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Maigret</span></a>, and when I read a Maigret novel, he’s the protagonist in my head.</p>
