Seedy of Chucky<p>I finally got back into the Lloyd's Bank mobile app the other day, and I have to say they've really done a tubular job of ensuring the app is as accessible and easy-to-use as possible with VoiceOver. On-screen elements are clearly labelled, item focus is never lost, everything response as it should when interacted with, and so much more. Sure, some stuff is weirdly positioned, but you can easily explore by touch if needed. Are other UK/US/other countries' banking apps this accessible? <a href="https://fwoof.space/tags/LloydsBank" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LloydsBank</span></a> <a href="https://fwoof.space/tags/banking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>banking</span></a> <a href="https://fwoof.space/tags/OnlineBanking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OnlineBanking</span></a> <a href="https://fwoof.space/tags/MobileBanking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MobileBanking</span></a> <a href="https://fwoof.space/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>blind</span></a></p>

Many banking apps will absolutely work without Google Play Services (even if they say they need them), including banking apps. Furthermore, using Sandboxed Google Play on GrapheneOS does not make it pointless in the slightest, either in the privacy or security sense. On GrapheneOS, Play Services/Store run in the same app sandbox as all other apps. They fundamentally don't have any extra access that any other app you install wouldn't, and they cannot access data that you don't explicitly provide them access to via permissions.</p><p>Apps can communicate within the same user profile with mutual consent (if both apps explicitly agree to communicate with each other), which is done to facilitate functionality between apps and Play Services, but that is not limited to Play Services at all. Apps communicate with each other for all kinds of reasons.</p><p>To expand on OP's question, a lot of banking apps will work fine on GrapheneOS. The ones that won't likely demand that you run a Google certified OS.</p><p>There's a community-maintained list of banking apps that work fine, which is in no way all-inclusive or definitive, but it should help demonstrate my point above a bit:</p><p><a href="https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">privsec.dev/posts/android/bank</span><span class="invisible">ing-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/grapheneos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>grapheneos</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/mobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mobile</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/security" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>security</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/banking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>banking</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/mobilebanking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mobilebanking</span></a></p>
