#MonochromeMonday (I *took* the photos on the right day!).The earliest spot for me to see poplar catkins + one of few places with low branches is along the road allowance beside the acreage- sheltered southern exposure. This is next to where the neighbours' have #cows with/expecting #babies . #cute #curious #calves but #mommas are not trusting- trying to stay between me and babies- but the little ones come up to the fence to see what I'm doing

Black and white photo of a cow and calf on the other side of a barbed wire fence in overcast light.The calf is very young, maybe a couple/few weeks at most, and is mostly black with bits of white on its ears, a couple of patches on its forehead, a small one at the top of its nose and a bigger one under its 'chin'. It has approached the fence to see what I'm doing a handful of metres away, but the cow (I don't think she's the mother as I saw her with another calf a short time before) who I suspect is a first time mother and she is not large, has turned her head to nudge the calf back and away from the threat (me). Only her head and a bit of neck is in the photo. She has a classic white face with a bit of darker around the eye, and we can't tell in the BW photo, but her body is red. The background is low dried grass, with taller grass and saplings along the fence/gate in front and along the wooden board fence behind.

W zeszłym roku byłem osiem dni w Kijowie... Nie zmyślam. Wprawdzie czasem kłamstwo sprawia, że prawda staje się bardziej wiarygodna, ale nie zamierzam iść tą drogą (nie chcę się pogubić, łatwiej pamiętać tylko prawdę).

Wiem już też, że „białe kłamstwa” prowadzą na manowce i że mają swoją wagę i że obciążają przede wszystkim kłamiącego (pamiętacie ostatnie kłamstwo w Jądrze ciemności Josepha Conrada? A wiecie, że autor powiedział kiedyś, że umieścił w narracji to „białe” — cóż za ironia — kłamstwo, bo bez niego byłoby zbyt ciemno?).

Teraz, że tak się wyrażę, stoję w prawdzie, nawet jeśli jest ona bolesna dla wszystkich wokół.

A different kind of immigration (

“The arrival of Chinese multinationals is leading an influx of “people from eastern China, more educated and with a broader global background,” said Andrei Guerrero, academic coordinator of the Center for China-Baja California Studies.

In a middle-class Mexico City neighborhood, Viaducto-Piedad, near the city’s historic Chinatown, a new Chinese community has been growing since the late 1990s. Chinese immigrants have not only opened businesses, but have created community spaces for religious events and children’s recreation.

Viaducto-Piedad is recognized by the Chinese themselves as Mexico City’s true “Chinatown,” said Monica Cinco, a specialist in Chinese migration and general director of the EDUCA Mexico Foundation.”
