Dressed to Kill (1946), the last Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes movie. Vital evidence to a robbery is concealed in three music boxes. A lesser entry in the series but reasonably entertaining and it has a fine femme fatale.

The Woman in Green (1945), the 11th Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes movie and a good, rather dark, film. An original story that borrows elements from several Conan Doyle tales. London is terrorised by Jack the Ripper copycat murders.

#BOTD #IdaLupino, who did a working woman #screwballcomedy FROM PILLOW TO POST. A highly recommended book that features her background in directing is "Nobody's Girl Friday" by J.E. Smythe.
#BOTD #NigelBruce whose entrance in his scene in REBECCA is a breath of fresh comic air.
#BOTD #WalterCatlett "Get your ears up like a rabbit" and wait for his scenes in BRINGING UP BABY. He almost steals scenes from Grant & Hepburn, and that's saying something!

Edward G was so magnetic I couldn’t turn away. Low budget & slow in parts but with some fave Brits like Nigel Bruce & Ralph Richardson, it was a US-UK merger worth watching. Edward G’s character was especially enjoyable as the “dream the impossible” type salesman who wins over the “dignified” UK public.
Enjoyed it! Uplifting!
