Something for #nissanleaf owners that have access to #3dprinting
A common failure part on ageing cars, which in some countries means a fail on an annual roadworthiness inspection.

Considering the amount of Feta I consume, and drive a #nissanleaf, I wonder where I'd be placed if this was done by vehicle owning and cheese consumption per person
The car came out lovely today after its wash, polish and wax.
Now for it to be filthy tomorrow as it's rained

Our 2019 Nissan LEAF hits 100,000Km today. We bought it second hand last year. With Ontario's ultra-low off peak pricing, we've saved about $2.5K in fuel in 12 months.
@nazokiyoubinbou @ai6yr I'm amazed at how well my 2012 #NissanLeaf runs. I'm glad I didn't buy a swasticar.
@Crispius What's your EV? Ours is a #NissanLeaf and I despair of ever finding efficient charging on the road.
@ai6yr We have a #NissanLeaf. Scraped the very bottom of the left front (plastic) panel. No problems with wheels, alignment, lights, glass etc. Cost to replace/repair? $7,000 ($Can). Unbelievable. No aftermarket parts, so we were (i.e. the insurance company was) captive to Nissan.
My wife and I's old car was getting super unreliable so we had to replace it. Our new car was delivered today and it's so nice! We got a 2025 Nissan Leaf. It's wild because it is technically a used car but it's a 2025 and had less than 3000 miles on it. I'm happy we were able to find this one as it was relatively cheap and I am currently unemployed but the payments on the new car are basically the same as our old one. This is the first time I've ever driven a fully electric car. One pedal driving is trippy but I was surprised how easy it was to adjust. I think I'm really gonna enjoy this thing. And as a bonus I didn't need to purchase from a Nazis to get a good electric car!

Het was me het werkdagje weer.
Maar het weer was een stuk beter. Ik kwam met nog 110km stroom op de accu thuis ipv de 70 vorige keer. En ik ben nog steeds gek met die auto. Die rijdt toch zo fijn.
Oh yeah. IYKYK.

That there is ~16 kWh (about 13 usable) of NMC batteries for my Vectrix. They’ve never been in a #NissanLeaf!
@Alpha1Nine
‘This week, Australia’s renewable energy agency released a V2G roadmap, which notes widespread uptake could “materially reduce electricity costs for consumers and accelerate national emissions reduction”….
‘…a V2G user was alerted by their energy retailer that power prices had spiked to over $20 per kilowatt hour – far above normal rates of 25–45 cents. They immediately set their car and home battery to sell power back to the grid. In two hours, they sold 28 kilowatt hours of power to the grid and made more than $560. As they told us: “I look forward to more such events.”
‘…to date, there’s no consensus showing V2G shortens the battery life of EVs significantly. One recent study shows it increases degradation by 0.3% a year. But another showed V2G might actually extend battery life in some scenarios…
‘We found battery warranty was a bigger concern than battery life. This is because most EV manufacturers other than Nissan don’t mention V2G in their battery warranties, leading drivers to believe they might void their warranty by using V2G.’

The #environmentalists here will find this amusing - a friend (slightly older, retired from a tech job with a good pension) went up North to visit friends and relatives.
He drives a used #NissanLeaf - I asked him "how many times will you have to recharge that during the journey?"
His reply - "I'm getting the #train - its more civilised" (he does at least have the spare time and cash for the longer journey and train tickets) #UK #Transport #Travel
Rapid charging Nissan Leafs on CCS, with a CCS to CHAdeMO adaptor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHSpK33lWA0 Looks like it's fiddly, but it can get above 50 kW. One for early adopters.
Hooray!!
I fixed my car!
I needed to replace the 12v battery but the hood wouldn't pop. Got that sorted and bought new battery ($$$!!!) and now it's back in business.

stuck in an electric car—a rare occurrence...
Actually that's one of the many reasons I got a #NissanLEAF to have the choice of waiting in a parking lot for 2 or 3 hr with the AC on. This was waiting for the wife at school and I could listen to podcasts and comfortably nap vs. drive home
Home charging 220v 30a for about $5 vs about $25+ for gas (in Japan) top off (7 gallons)ESTIMATED
He says _soon_ 60% of all Chinese new cars sold will be #EV
