This… is a symptom of a society which deep down knows some things have to change in politics (elected representatives) to ensure a more equitable society but doesn’t have enough gumption or motivation to do anything about it (perhaps too distracted by being ‘under the pump’ — a oft-used soundbite by one minister).
The longer the electorate sits iddly by tolerating our govts measurably drifting off-centre to the right, the more of these symptoms will surface until a time when (as in the US) it will be too late to do anything about the rise of #Fascism and #StateCapture by the #Oligarchy is a fait accompli (ominous words most peeps do not want to use for fear of … something) .

I've been re-watching #MrRobot on Netflix. (Early S 4 right now.) It's a complicated story so I enjoy being able to stream episodes instead of waiting a week.
It's 10 years old, but has held up well IMO. Themes include #oligarchy, the cruelty (and fragility) of #capitalism, #economic crisis and bailouts, #cryptocurrency, and #hacking.
By way of content warning there are some very heavy mental illness elements and serious violence. If that doesn't turn you away it's a great series.
