Richard Ashwell<p>The government's voter ID scheme risks the very principle of free and fair elections. One voter turned away is one too many.</p><p>Over 2 million people lack <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/photoID" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photoID</span></a> in the UK, and these undemocratic plans risk blocking them from the ballot box.</p><p>According to the Electoral Commission, 16,000 voters were turned away at the last general election.
