Tra i film di #SamPeckinpah che ho visto è sicuramente il meno riuscito, a tratti confuso e al limite della caricatura.
Nonostante questo rimane un film da guardare.

This culture columnist couldn't be more wrong in choosing this title and should really go rewatch all these movies.
They are actually very humanity-affirming and fight nihilism, warning us about the dangers of sadism.
The Killer Elite (1975), directed by Sam Peckinpah, pairs Robert Duvall with James Caan as mercenaries whose friendship turns sour - with lethal consequences. There’s a lot of violence - and quite a few ninjas.

A favourite film a day for 365 days: Straw Dogs.
Sam Peckinpah's uncomfortable masterpiece. It's *not* about a man becoming a man by unleashing violence; it's about a man unleashing violence by going along, running away, refusing to take a stand. Dustin Hoffman's character isn't the hero here; he's the bad guy. Straw Dogs isn't an ode to heroism. It's a study of cowardice.
On August 30, 1973, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid debuted in the United Kingdom. Here’s some Bob Dylan art!

Sam Peckinpah's Major Dundee (1965), an interesting and strangely impressive failure which had the potential for greatness. A visually brilliant grungy western. Peckinpah's ambitions ran away with him. Superb performance by Charlton Heston.

In 1864, due to frequent Apache raids from Mexico into the U.S., a Union officer decides to illegally cross the border and destroy the Apache, using a mixed army of Union troops, Confederate POWs, civilian mercenaries, and scouts.
#PatGarrettAndBillyTheKid (1973) - 8/10
Violent film about violent men.
#JamesCoburn is hired by wealthy cattle barons to bring down his friend #KrisKristofferson. Directed by #SamPeckinpah.
The core of the story is that the two men were once friends. Indeed, Billy was once a lawman and Pat was once an outlaw. Now, their roles are reversed. But, at times, the importance of their relationship is lost in the narrative.
Like many smart westerns, it's really a story about something deeper.
Cross of Iron directed by Sam Peckinpah - in the midst of a cocaine and booze binge - holds up as a remarkable anti-war movie, with fantastic performances by James Coburn and James Mason #sampeckinpah #movies #films #filmreview #jamesmason #war #WW2 #sampeckinpah www.speckled.band
What an incredible turn by Steve McQueen in The Getaway, the gritty Sam Peckinpah thriller in which he co-starred with Ali MacGraw. The fake blood did look a little too fake, at least on TV! But the climactic scenes are superb. Listen to our new track Steve McQueen https://emubands.ffm.to/stevemcqueen
