Some songs capture a fleeting moment, while others leave an everlasting mark on an entire generation. More than a decade after their iconic 2011 hit “Titanium,” David Guetta and Sia have reignited their musical chemistry with “Beautiful People,” a euphoric dance anthem that blends soaring melodies with raw emotion.

In the process of consciously uncoupling my life/energy/information/anything from Google. I have been using Google Keep for organising lyrics over the past few years, but am wondering what apps you Fedi #songwriters might suggest for writing organisation.

My needs:

* syncing between mobile & desktop
* intuitive tagging system
* text is a must, but integrated audio recordings would be great
* free is nice, but wouldn't mind paying a few quid for something highly rated.

Suggestions?

4 Incredible #AntiWar #Songs That Required a Bit of “Reading Between the Lines”

Not every great #protestsong is in your face or direct about its message. Some #songwriters take a more poetic approach to singing anti-#war songs. Let’s take a look at four tracks that are very much anti-war #tunes, but require a bit of reading between the lines to understand.

Peggy Lee wrote “It's a Good Day" while doing the housework. Recently married with a young daughter, she’d semi-retired from performing, but the melodies and words kept flowing from her.

“It’s a Good Day” was released on 16 November 1946 and reached number 16 on the charts the following January. Peggy Lee duetted the song with Bing Crosby on four occasions, and many artists subsequently recorded their own versions.

"Little Willy" is a song written by #songwriters #NickyChinn and #MikeChapman and performed by the British #glamRock band #TheSweet, released in 1972 as a non-album single in the UK, peaking at number 4 in the #UKSinglesChart. It was released in the US in January 1973 and also appeared on their US debut album The Sweet and became their biggest hit in the US, reaching number 3 on the #Billboard Hot 100. Billboard ranked it as the #number18SongFor1973.

The album included her version of “Love Has No Pride,” a heart-rending song about lost love and longing, written with her childhood friend Eric Kaz. Stephen Holden, reviewing a performance by Ms Titus for The New York Times in 1983, called it “one of the finest ballads of the rock era.”

"Never My Love" is a #pop standard written by American siblings Don and Dick Addrisi, and best known from a hit 1967 recording by #theAssociation. The #AddrisiBrothers had two #Top40 hits as recording artists, but their biggest success as #songwriters was "Never My Love". Recorded by dozens of notable artists in the decades since, in 1999 the music publishing rights organization #BroadcastMusicInc (BMI) announced it was the second most-played song on radio.

Something that I don't talk about much... I've been hanging out with a group of old hippie #songwriters.

I used to write flash fiction and short stories all the time before it became a job, and wrote reams of really angsty poetry as a teen, so I'm seeing if those old mental muscles still work and how they might approach #lyrics.

I know nothing about music theory or writing the music to go with the lyrics, but It's been fun. Our next meeting is Tuesday. I have my first draft. I'm excited.
