…For example, as part of my new quest to link the character of the Dude from The Big Lebowski to Starsky and Hutch, I began to wonder if the White Russian cocktail appears much in S&H.

Someone out there on the internet, for reasons presumably of their own, put up a web page detailing all of Starsky & Hutch’s interactions with alcohol, through the complete run of the show.

(The White Russian does not significantly figure.)

I think this is a deliberate reference. The Dude is wearing his version of a Starsky sweater.

The other Starsky and Hutch reference is the car. Starsky’s car is famously a mid-70s Ford Gran Torino. Guess what the Dude drives.

I think the Coen brothers must be big Starsky and Hutch fans. Or the Dude is meant to be.

Now I need to see if Starsky (or Hutch) likes White Russians, or if either has an oriental rug.
