d4doome<p>Madonna of the Seven Moons is a 1945 British Gainsborough melodrama but melodrama is hardly an adequate word to describe this truly bizarre film. It&#39;s beyond mere melodrama. Over-the-top, outrageously excessive, a delight from start to finish.</p><p>My review: <a href="https://dfordoom-movieramblings.blogspot.com/2017/08/madonna-of-seven-moons-1945.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dfordoom-movieramblings.blogsp</span><span class="invisible">ot.com/2017/08/madonna-of-seven-moons-1945.html</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/classicmovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>classicmovies</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/classicmovie" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>classicmovie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/1940smovie" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>1940smovie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/Britishcinema" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Britishcinema</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/britishmovie" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>britishmovie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/britishmovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>britishmovies</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/melodrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>melodrama</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/melodramas" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>melodramas</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/GainsboroughPictures" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GainsboroughPictures</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/PhyllisCalvert" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PhyllisCalvert</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/StewartGranger" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>StewartGranger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/romance" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>romance</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/romancemovie" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>romancemovie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/romancemovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>romancemovies</span></a></p>
d4doome<p>The Man in Grey (1943), first of the great Gainsborough British melodramas.</p><p>With James Mason as a dissipated, cruel dangerous nobleman and Margaret Lockwood doing the bad girl thing as only she could.</p><p>Packs as much twisted romance and illicit sexuality into its running time as it can. An out-and-out melodrama and an unashamed bodice ripper but very stylish and great fun.</p><p>My review: <a href="https://dfordoom-movieramblings.blogspot.com/2017/08/the-man-in-grey-1943.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dfordoom-movieramblings.blogsp</span><span class="invisible">ot.com/2017/08/the-man-in-grey-1943.html</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/classicmovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>classicmovies</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/melodrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>melodrama</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/JamesMason" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JamesMason</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/MargaretLockwood" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MargaretLockwood</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/StewartGranger" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>StewartGranger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/BritishCinema" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BritishCinema</span></a></p>
