Nothing does a body good like getting a water bill that is $200 above what we typically pay!

Twenty minutes of conversation later with someone in the Water Department, it's a mystery why our water meter stopped putting out a signal last June (likely due to replacing the water line), and so now we're playing catch up over the next 3 months

A vast expanse of colorful, striped tulip fields stretches towards the distant Cascades Mountains as seen from Mount Vernon, Washington, with dramatic clouds allowing beams of sunlight to break through early in the morning yesterday.
This farm is part of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, the second largest in the entire USA, about one and a half hour north of Seattle. Peak bloom is from mid-April to the end of April with many beautiful varieties.
Farm workers are essential to make this festival happen year, after year; a farm worker is included in the image, stands among the bright rows of planted tulips, highlighting the rural and tranquil setting.
