Sure this was a man-made disaster, all be it a gender reveal 'mishap' that set the hill on fire, and when the rain came, the flood got speeding and took everything left away. Now you may call the rains a 'natural disaster' but that was also a man-made disaster: man polluting the air => heating the globe => hot air xontaining more moisture => heavier rains.
So... this wasn't God ! You did it to yourself.
BTW: Typical American: underestimating nature; overestimating himself and vvalueing his car above his life.

* Find and join your local 'Strong Towns Group' [see link below]
You may find out that your problems are already spoken about and addressed. Or find people who agree on your problem and find ways to address it.
* Just go for a walk.
For me, being a Dutchie, this is some strange advise. But indeed, go about your neighborhood without wheels. See what kind of problems you encounter. Don't worry, it won't hurt.

Midden in de klimaatcrisis willen bedrijven boren naar nieuw gas uit de kwetsbare Noordzee. Dat moet nu stopppen! Ik roep de Europese Unie en haar lidstaten op om alle nieuwe fossiele brandstofprojecten te verbieden.
Hoe zit dit?
Fossiele brandstoffen riskeren ieders veiligheid. In de Europese Unie dreigt alsnog het reële gevaar dat fossiele gasprojecten worden uitgebreid. Het boren naar meer gas en het bouwen van nieuwe infrastructuur zal Europa in een fossiele houdgreep houden. Geld dat besteed had kunnen worden aan groene innovaties wordt verspild aan nutteloze en onhoudbare projecten. Verslaafd blijven aan fossiel gas zal leiden tot stijgende energierekeningen, vernietiging van de natuur en klimaatchaos. Gas is een vuile, dodelijke fossiele brandstof, net zoals olie en steenkool. De Europese Unie en haar lidstaten moeten stoppen met fossiele brandstofprojecten voordat het te laat is. Op 4 juni voerde Greenpeace actie bij het nieuwe boorplatform net boven Schiermonnikoog. Diezelfde dag nog zette de rechter een streep door de natuurvergunning van het fossiele bedrijf! Leer hier meer over de actie.
