An Uaimhín (2010);

Another remake of an old panorama (I think remade in 2021 or 2022) for a small cave into the rocks (or some kind of shelter-like structure) on the side of the nature trail in Cahir town, Co. Tipperary. The path (lower part of the image) despite being curved, is actually a straight line, and it leads to the "Swiss Cottage" (which actually has nothing to do with Switzerland but because people back then thought it looks like a Swiss cottage, hence the name!).
It was one of the challenging panoramas. Here, done in RAW, but originally done in HDR. In both cases, it was somewhat hard to stitch. The main culprit is the exposure I'd say. When I shot this, I was a beginner with the panorama-making processes (I got my panorama gear specifically some months that year before traveling to Ireland in October). I admit though, I had an idea back then that "I can fix it in post-process later on" - and man how much was I wrong. Anyway, there are other problems away from the technical aspect, like for example the location in which I've shot this panorama; If I was to do this again, I'd probably stand a bit further away from the formation.
Worth noting, the path was actually busy with people, but I was lucky here somehow (plus, when forming HDRs, the software tries to remove moving objects). Yet, this is a RAW render and not HDR, and still I'm lucky to have no one I guess! (I see people sometimes as a disturbance to the scene).

Today in Labor History July 29, 1848: The police put down the Tipperary Revolt against British rule. The Young Ireland movement led this nationalist rebellion, which was part of a wave of European revolutions that occurred that year. Because the revolt occurred in the wake of the Great Famine, and the Irish were still suffering from hunger and poverty, it is also sometimes called the Famine Rebellion. During the revolt, the rebels chased an Irish Constabulary into the Widow McCormack’s house in Ballingarry, South Tipperary, where they took her children hostage. She demanded to be let in, but the cops refused. Rebel leaders tried negotiating with the cops, so that no one would get hurt. “We’re all Irishmen,” they said. “Put down your guns and you’re free to go.” However, the cops began firing and a gunfight ensued, lasting hours, until a large group of police reinforcements chased the rebels off. The authorities later arrested many of the leaders and sent them to the penal colony in Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania).

In my first novel, “Anywhere But Schuylkill,” my main character’s mother is brought to America in 1848 by her family, who were fleeing deportation to Van Diemen’s Land for their role in the uprising.

St Dominic (2010);

This is one of the panoramas that I don't show a lot, and here it is re-done using RAW files instead of HDR. The reason for not showing it much is, well, the lack of details. Located at the heart of Cashel, the monastery ruins definitely look intriguing from the outside (and for all my stay in Cashel, I didn't know how to get in until the last day for me there). The monastery is composed mainly of 2 courts; this one here which is mainly a graveyard, and the other court (reachable through the gate at the center of the panorama here) is the main service court (I suppose). Despite the simplicity of this place, I almost ended up with a disaster, when an essential screw in my gear fell to the ground, and I had to comb the place slowly looking for it among the pebbles.

The final was today!

A real game of two very different halves!!

First half, Cork are dominant, but Tipperary stay in sight. Half time Cork 1-16 Tipp 0-13.

Cork come out in the second half, miss a free in the first minute, and it went downhill from there.

Cork couldn't do a thing right in the second half, had a player sent off, and only scored two points.

Tipperary were all over them, and thrashed Cork in the end.

Full time Tipperary 3-27 Cork 1-18.

An Seomra Bricfeasta (2010);

The breakfast room of Thornbrook House (B&B). Though shot in 2010, and though I did stitch this panorama in this perspective, but this is a new make of it done in 2016 - probably because I learned more about panorama stitching at that time and decided to do it again because this panorama in particular was problematic when I first stitched it. It could also be just a change in the order (center point) of the panorama from the old stitch 🤷🏻‍♂️
