I spent the weekend visiting #NationalParks outside #Bogotá, #Colombia, mainly for #birds. There was plenty of rain, and the light wasn't great, but it was wonderful to explore new ecosystems (Páramo and Bosque Alto-Andino) and see some distinctive species.

Andean #Condor (one of two soaring and then on a cliff in #Chingaza NP)

Female Torrent #Duck (#BosqueGuajira Reserva Natural)

Black-billed Mountain-#Toucan (Bosque Guajira)

Boyaca #Antpitta (#Sumapaz NP)

Large black vulture with big white panels on the upperside of the wings, soaring in a grey sky with its primary feathers spread.
Orange duck with dark oily-coloured upperparts, a stiff tail and a bright red bill standing on a wet boulder in the middle of a rushing stream.
Toucan sitting on branch - the bill is all black, the underside is bluish with a white throat, and the upperside and tail are dark.
Small, almost tailless cinnamon-coloured bird perched on the withered black leaves of one of the local Espeletia sunflower plants. It's head is raised to sing.

Meine lieben Lebensformen,

ich bin ja auch ein absoluter Fan von Tukanen (und den kleineren Verwandten, den Arassaris). Hier ein Tukan aus den höheren LAgen der Anden. Diesen Blautukan durfte ich auf über 3000m Höhe beobachten und fotografieren.
Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage.
Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt.

Der schlimmste Seelenschmerz ist das Fernweh.

My dear life forms,
I am also an absolute fan of toucans (and their smaller relatives, the toucanets). Here is a toucan from the higher altitudes of the Andes. I was able to observe and photograph this Grey-breasted Mountain toucan
at an altitude of over 3000 metres.

Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance.
Stay healthy, happy and in love.

The most terrible pain in the soul is wanderlust.
