Anybody know when Levy is expected to report?
4 years ago I came out to my partner as nonbinary as a away to deal with the increasing difficulty keeping my gender feelings hidden. I wasn’t truely nonbinary, it just seemed a safe compromise to a desperate me trying to avoid coming out as trans.
It helped me come to terms and finally come out as trans.
#TransRights demo "Resist the Ruling" in #Manchester, 2pm Saturday 3rd May at the Crown Court, Crown Square, M3 3DL.
Organised by Manchester Trans Liberation Assembly and supported by Rainbow Noir, UoM Trans Association, Disabled People Against Cuts, We Demand Change Manchester and UNISON Greater Manchester Mental Health Branch.
(I'm not involved in organising this, just passing on info)
I just donated to fund the campaign to challenge the supreme court's decision on gender. You can too.
The recent UK Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of sex in the (British) Equality Act: does it apply in Northern Ireland?
Here, Anurag Deb, Sylvia de Mars, Colin Murray and Aoife O’Donoghue explore why the answer is "no".
I'm only halfway through this but frankly, it's brilliant. I'm not a lawyer, just a physics-trained programmer who's good at following logical argument.
The Supreme Court has put itself in a very strange position (let the reader understand)

Bigot: “God doesn’t make mistakes so if you’re born a man you’re a man and that’s all there is to it.”
Me: “Ok… So like if you get cancer then, that’s not bad luck etc, but is God’s will for you because God doesn’t make mistakes, and thus we shouldn’t give you any medical help because you’ve got cancer and that’s all there is to it?”
Bigot: “That’s different.”
Me: “cool, cool”.
A friend just calls me to relay a real world every day experience.
Cis female, in London. Covent Garden.
Queuing for the loo.
Male attendant. Keeps going in to the ladies to check for free loos & keep them clean.
Meanwhile a guy with 2 young female kids decides he’s not waiting in the queue for them to use the loo when the gents has no queue. Off they go to the gents.
Guess how many women are objecting to either scenario. Zero. That’s right. Zero.
What’s the problem again?
Next Saturday at 1PM there will be another trans rights protest at the Victoria monument in Liverpool

""A man is believed to have exposed himself and masturbated while on board in front of other passengers. A 22-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of outraging public decency."
Oh. not wearing a dress in the public toilets?
Odd.
Un-fucking-believable
So we're actively targeting a sub-set of the trans community...
"Political parties are expected to be told that trans women cannot be on women-only shortlists but trans men can."
Because we're keeping women safe with this shit, right?
Euch, the Labour government are totally pushing the lie that the Supreme Court has just ruled on the definitive definition of "woman".
That is not what happened.
The Supreme Court interpreted the Equality Act of 2010, and ruled on what they thought was meant by "woman" in that act.
Any sane progressive party would go "Oh no! That's not at all what we meant! The courts have misunderstood! Let's legislate to fix that!"
But we don't have a progressive government...

Emailed the local pub that we often go to for lunch or evening meals to ask what their policy will be regarding trans folk and use of the toilets.
Now just got to wait for their reply to see if I’m ever going there again.
They have always been lovely in the past, and so have all the customers in the ladies who have stopped me for a chat, usually to say they like my outfit or hair.
Fingers crossed it is good news.
So based on a template provided by TransActual, I've submitted the following to Keir Starmer/10 Downing Street. Here's what I wrote if you want to use it as a template yourself for anything - I had to edit it to make it within the required character limit for the website. Feel free to use it when contacting MPs or the PM!
Dear Keir Starmer,
I am writing to you with regards to what I understand to be the Government's direction on women's safe spaces, as reported in the press.
I have serious concerns that this Government may make life harder for every woman in the UK as well as for trans men and non-binary people. As a trans person, I want everyone to be able to live their lives in dignity and safety. These proposed changes would impact trans and non-binary people as well as women who don't conform to gender stereotypes. I'm particularly anxious about how these potential changes would be policed. How would anyone, cis or trans, be expected to prove their right to use the women's toilets? Which facilities would trans men and non-binary people be expected to use?
I recognise the need for safe spaces for women, but am unsure why the proposal singles out trans people for exceptional treatment if the problem is cisgender men.
I urge you to halt this discriminatory proposal.
Lee Tadd
