For years, those stories lived in her imagination—until her 70s, when she decided it was time to share them with the world. Together, we created Storie Sotto Le Stelle—a website and podcast where her stories come to life in Italian and English, connecting generations through the magic of #storytelling.

Writing together has become more than just crafting stories—it’s about discovering joy and purpose, or what the Japanese call #ikigai. It’s proof that it’s never too late to take creative risks, rediscover talents, and connect deeply with loved ones. 🌟

What’s the secret ingredient to an authentic #Tuscan #Italian herb blend? It’s the #nipitella, an native herb that’s wild in Tuscany. Also known as “lesser #calamint”, or can sometimes be found in nurseries. The rest of the blend includes the #garden-grown rosemary, sage, and parsley. No thyme, unless you red to substitute for nipitella. The #herbs should be well-chopped. Excellent on pork, salsa with lemon juice on sausage, roasted artichokes, poultry, game, and so on. #food #gardening

Well-chopped Tuscan, Italian herbs include parseley, sage, rosemary, and nipitella. Wash the herbs, defoliate, and then chop. Some of the tender stems of parsley are good, as they actually have lots of flavor, but chop them differently, and more fine than the leaves.

Vibrant nipitella grows in the garden. It’s typically best in spring to early summer in California. It dies back in winter, but constantly rebounds. This plant is easy to split and replicate new ones. It’s good in pots, beds, or even as a ground cover, or allowed to flourish wild. Nipitella has a woodsy flavor, and lovely scent.
