Weird behavior in #Firefox only when using my laptop's touch pad. First of all, two finger scroll is so fast it's almost unusable. Secondly, even when I stop it seems to have momentum, and will continue scrolling briefly.

First time using #Ubuntu on this laptop (a recent-ish HP). I'm on 25.04, if that helps.

Anyone else encountered this?

(I should say - it's absolutely fine via mouse. Behaves just like it did on Windows)

Okay, this is my first post from Mastodon on #Ubuntu #linux running from a USB SSD on an #apple #macbookpro (early 2013).

What initially led me here was not being able to run Signal on Catalina, the last macOS this system supports.

After a bit of hacking the tutorial above, all good; MBP internal SSD untouched.

I'll post some key details of getting here in a new thread. I've nowhere else to post it, except maybe 'ask Ubuntu', which so far I've only lurked...

#Ubuntu 25.04 doesn't ship with curl when you pick the minimal install option?

That's kinda bonkers, especially when installing it used 503kB.

"Mon scanner ne marche pas"

Moi : installe le driver du scanner, et... Lance simple-scan.

Really odd. Something ate up all my disk space while I was AFK for a couple of hours. 150Gb gone.
I restarted. No change.
I turned the computer off, restarted. I got my disk space back. 🤷‍♂️

Weird side effect: I got logged out of mastodon (on librewolf)

Currently, I'm wondering if I should buy a new PC laptop to install Linux on it OR if I should just take my Macbook Pro 2015 to the shop and replace the battery and give it a 1 to SSD hard drive, and THEN install Linux on it... :P

Is it worth it in your opinion or 2015 is tool old to invest that money and I should just go with a brand new PC?
