Airwolf (1984) is a high-octane '80s sci-fi TV series centered on a stealth helicopter used by government agents to take on terrorism. The show’s aesthetic is pure retro-futurism—chrome surfaces, synth-heavy music, motion graphics, intense flight sequences, and dramatic UI visuals like radar overlays and cockpit displays.

Is there any point in having a brightness bar you can drag if there isn't much of a difference in the middle of low-ish, medium-ish, and high-ish? Maybe adding low-medium and medium-high presets would work? Customizable levels would still be necessary, but I don't think the draggable bar is always necessary to show in the notification thing.

Light and shadow are more than just visual elements; they're a fundamental part of our biological connection to nature.

In biophilic design, mimicking the dynamic, dappled light of a forest canopy can reduce stress and improve well-being. Our latest post explores how to use this powerful tool in both architecture and digital design to create more human, restorative spaces.

[P] I sometimes wonder if—climate-catastrophe aside—the reason people aren't excited about games or tech anymore is how soulless it feels to interact with them, now. I keep hearing about how creative Gen Alpha kids are getting into retrogaming and picking up dumb phones—because the art inspires them to interact with these devices. Modern comsoles feel more like spreadsheets than anything actually joyful. Lots of spreadsheets. Great design, that is.

[P] Oof! Look at this top comment.

Narcissism (self-interest), sociopathy (failure to empathise with artists, blaming them instead), and insecurity (art is an unnecessary requirement, like "playing with a ball" and "selling out"), all stewing in viscous jealousy.

Imposter syndrome isn't far off. I miss what UI design was. The beauty of coders & artiats—before the age of soulless flat design laden with white space and clipart.

[P] This was a funny—and slightly cathartic—read. I mean, yes, I see narcissism and sociopathy in UX design all the time, it's been that way for over a decade. It's why I've been investigating (only to end up wishing I hadn't as these arrogant, insecure prats are insufferable).

Just... really not good people.

Again, I miss what UI design WAS.
