Easiest #artvsartist of my life, only 4 projects... My regular job consumes lots of energy and even though I knew this year'd mean a creative slump, it still makes me sad to see it captured in an image. But I'm proud of the things I tried, tested, learned and achieved, and I will spend next year doing some of the same. I wish living as an artisan was easier but I have a lot to sort out first: it's a long-distance race and I have patience

A couple of years ago, inspired by the urumi, I made a Celtic-inspired swordbelt for an exhibition. I had the itch to make a replica of the #Xena sword but never found the time. I came across #WarriorNun and the sword was added to the list. And then shit happened, so I closed comms and decided to reconnect with my creativity. I took the opportunity to make some experiments, and they've been a success, so I'm happy with the result. I hope you like them

#Save campaigns are fan-led digital efforts to reverse the cancellation of favorite TV series. They've been instrumental in bringing shows like "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Lucifer" back from the brink. The campaigns are getting more expensive and elaborate, but according to Paste magazine they are unlikely to work, and can be exploitative of fandoms. Here's their thoughtful feature on the subject.

Paste MagazineAre Fan-Led TV Renewal Campaigns All for Nothing? As fan renewal campaigns have gotten more and more elaborate (and expensive), the returns have continued to diminish.

I'm not an expert, but I know that streaming services are in a constant competition. By saving #WarriorNun from cancellation, Netflix has done a big and important move. Fans are happy that their voices have been heard, and all eyes are now on Netflix and the show. Disney should do the same with #Willow, because anything else would be foolish.
