That's evidence of shops that existed at one time, but not (alas) evidence on the WWW of waves, on the sea, on the #YorkshireCoast, on #YorkshireDay.

Beware calling those shops. There are ones that sell fake waves made of foam to tourists for use in selfies, to make the flat #Yorkshire sea seem like Hawai'i.

"Tha poots it behind thyself and it lukes lark a reet gradely blue tube, lad. As goode as tha'd get in #Cornwall, anyroad."

(-:

On this glorious rainy #YorkshireDay a couple of choice phrases from my Grandma who allegedly walked through blitzed out Sheffield to return to her sister in Rotherham to see if she was okay (no busses, because The Blitz).

"wer tha born in a barn?" - why have you not shut the door?
"everyone is crackers, 'xcept for thee and me, and i'm not so sure about thee"
"it's a reet swiz"; i came to understand that "swiz" meant swindle or con.

It is, I hear, something called #YorkshireDay; and absurd rumours have been circulating on social media, claiming that there are *waves* in t' sea on t' east coast of #Yorkshire .

Waves‽

I have scoured that well known source of truth, t' World Wide Web, and can find no credible source for such a claim. Even this picture from a year ago today shows no waves around t' 'umber bridge.

We need all Yorkshire folk to fact check this claim.
