I recently read the graphic novel I Shall Never Fall in Love by Hari Conner @hari. I enjoyed it! I felt like it was a realistic portrayal of how queer and other marginalized identities could fit in its Regency setting. I particularly liked how it also included race and class issues. A great bonus was the addendum with sources for further historical reading and preparatory sketches from the art's planning stages.

Linda reviews "The Worlds Behind Her Eyelids" by Alexa Lee:

"Grace lives in both reality and her fantasy world, which makes this story very interesting... Filled with danger and excitement, and it's clear that there's a lot more coming. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. 5 stars."

#SelfPromotion #SelfPromotionSunday The Challenges of Being Me is a #contemporary #youngadult story.
Step one: Attend and graduate from the same college as my parents and sister. Check.
Step two: Find someone during freshman year and start a relationship with them. Nope.
Steph three: Fall in love. Not in my cards.
Step four: Get married and start a family. Can’t do this until I get to step three. #KindleUnlimited #kindle #writingcommunity #author @bookstodon

Is younger-YA dead as a genre? Just reread the Jacqueline Wilson “Girls” series where the main characters are 13/14. It definitely couldn’t be called middle grade but most YA coming out now tends much older.

See also books like Angus, Thongs and perfect snogging. This genre was such a good bridge and I feel the ‘voice’ in these books is sort of perfectly half way between the naval-gazey YA voice and the dry, humorous MG voice.

If you can get past the outright ridiculousness of the initial premise (and many readers may not be able to), this post-apocalyptic environmental-disaster tale boasts characters you end up caring about. #youngadult #sciencefiction #climatechange #books #reviews #bookstodon

Last night, I finished Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron. 3.5 ⭐

It's like Bridgerton meets The Handmaid's Tale with the story of Cinderella as propaganda.

✅ Prompt 10: #Queer horror

It's not listed as horror, but it is a bit eerie and gruesome. Other users added it to fulfill this prompt, which I think is how I found it to begin with.
