I may not have found the answer to the Secret I was looking for in Kemet, but I shared something with the thousand-year-old lords of the Nile. Then, I remembered this passage from a story that some Bards once told:

[...] Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a god
Why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies
All around is laid waste
And in my last hour
I'm a Slave to the Power of Death [...]

(Iron Maiden, 1984, Powerslave)"

This is my mother being approached by a vendor.

After the seeing the Abu Simbel temples, the only path to the parking lot is via the stores selling souvenirs and local goods. Our guide alerted us to the persistence of the vendors but we all understood that they needed to make a living.

One was so persistent and even gave us a friendly challenge, "if I guess what country you are from in 3 tries, you will buy this cloth from me."

I agreed. He could not guess from what country we were from even if I gave him 6 attempts to guess.

But we ended up buying whatever he was selling due to his good character.

Always be kind.

My photos (and selfies) of the four statues inside the Great Temple of Abu Simbel, which are of the gods Amun-Ra, Ptah, Ra-Horakhty, and the deified king Ramesses II. The statues are carved into a black wall in the sanctuary of the temple.

The architects of ancient Egypt in the 13th century BCE aligned the temple so that on October 22 and February 22, the sun’s rays enter into the sanctuary to illuminate the sculptures on the wall, except for the statue of Ptah, the god associated with the underworld, which remains in shadow.
