#ScribesAndMakers 21 Does music help or hinder your creativity? Or are you unaffected by music?
I use music for period and for energy and for focus. I had a 60s themed playlist for Our Child of the Stars but also I use movie themes, and some classics and minimalist music. Like others, fresh music with lyrics is distracting but stuff I know doesn't register so much. I probably use less during editing.

Alexios lives in a cyberflat. It's in a good end of town, ironically, in the Nightlife District. It's smaller in size but very homey. He doesn't need a gigantic home. There's a kitchenette, a living room area, and a comfy bedroom (with a workspace and desk off to the side by the windows). It's his sanctuary, his tiny space away from the madness of Ethera.
Wrote for 1:25, and produced 1,139 words. Not bad.
Especially considering that when I sat down to start, my mind was fuzzy and I was feeling utterly lethargic. I should remember that if I push myself, I actually get stuff done.
And one character opened up to another and revealed some stuff about her past history, and so I was able to show that in dialogue instead of telling it in exposition! Yay!

My word-count is lagging again and I may not make my plan for the month.
One aspect of writing a prequel trilogy to a book that is not written yet: I know things that happened without necessarily knowing their order or what the book is about.
I have realized that the big section of text from my last burst is in the wrong place structurally and geographically (so some of the functional SCs are also the wrong people). Fixing that will be slowish work & may need maps.

A proper editor and sensitivity readers. That work deserves to be paid, and I a hobbyist, so I can't justify spending the money, but I would *love* to work with professionals who can help me make it better than I can do on my own.

Very very close tie between a) my wife seeing how much joy I get from it and giving me time to do it, and b) the fantastic writing group that I managed to have built. The support means so so much, esp since there's basically no change my fiction will ever get published. :)
