I don't like the title of my current piece. It's just called "The Order" right now because I haven't come up with something better. My previous project was called, "The Curse of Zeus," carrying on the fine fantasy tradition of "the X of Y." I'm not sure I really have the hang of titles.

Like criticism, I’ve learned this over time, though for me it was more difficult than taking criticism thanks to my upbringing. I’d downplay any achievement.

That’s a toxic outlook, a form of negative self-talk. There’s an enormous difference between bragging & taking pride in our accomplishments.
I silently take pride in each step taken, each milestone passed, no matter how minor. It’s creative fuel.

strong emotions
No tricks.
In a Deep 3rd POV craft perspective, it means showing over telling (actions, body language, expressions, word choice, etc).
The art begins long before the scene in question, & it means empathy, humanity…knowing the character.
That happens prior to drafting. I do it via narratives. After developing the character, experiencing their joy/heartbreak, I channel (no imposing) their natural reactions to events.

Someone who's read it, and gets what I'm going for. Advice that I change my vision is worthless - even if it would make commercialization easier. Advice that helps me realize it, even if it requires me to do extra work and rewriting, is precious.

Well, that's 2:05 of #writing work tonight.
Again, no word count. I'm working on character backgrounds. There's some stuff that all needs to hang together for various reasons, some of which won't even come into play until... uhh, *wayyyy* later. But I need to hammer it out now, because it's all going to have a bearing on this one person's lifestyle, and hence how and when she needs to leave the event that I want to write a vignette about.
