One of the earliest efforts to cross the bridge between the material & spiritual world was thru the paradigm of ancestor worship. This began in the Stone Age & in many ways still continues today. If you show respect to, honour & in some cases worship your ancestors (of blood, heart, spirit, culture, place) you continue this practice. Does your town have statues & museums for local heroes? Do you use their names on roads?
