Update: no hate against #microsoft but genuinely their #azure program to generate a #bing #api was so desastrous it made me leave my first 0 stars review to a service after failing to generate it because the service was down. Except the billing authorisation after forcing me to take a free trial to subscribe, unclear tarification and predatory insurance plan offers! Even logging in required an extra manipulation because of bugs. I know I suck, but the karen evaluation felt justified #rant

Before leaving the site after giving up, I had to cancel my subscription (“annual free trial”) on the spot just in case not to be billed after forgetting about it. - an external explanation site to find the right product/price (the error is expensive at 800e a year for what I thought was the right product), the interface is not designed for occasional users. - another external site to check the price list and make sure you're really in the ‘free product range included’ for this product, as the link leads to a 404 error. - copilot to be able to configure, because the solicitor is the only way to get an explanation of the error messages or the solution for configuring the api correctly.
following and end: Why ask whether I'm in the north or south of France if I want to create an API whose ‘global’ region, unchangeable at creation, is incompatible with this choice anyway? Why do I have to ask Copilot for an explanation to find out that I have to enter ‘west eu’, which I would have done from the start if this had been mentioned beforehand? Is it to generate uses? Admittedly, I'm an occasional user, but frankly, given the scale of Microsoft, the experience is absolutely depressing. One wonders whether it's not to force businesses and administrations who have compulsory contracts to go through your paid training programs and generate clicks on manuals, or whether the devs don't have exes over there who they like they want to see suffer… I’m even questioning if there were enough resources allocated at all or just a total lack of interest in the project, which ended in ‘well it’s there, those who have to go through us will do so regardless and for the other two or three people we'll try to get them to generate as many uses of our AI, clicks, and customer tickets as possible to keep our team busy while the devs work on another error. Try to make them give us money by accident or for things they don’t need, too, since they won’t do it willingly.” + extra alt in next pic

You've given me a unique experience, it's the first time I've had a bug at absolutely every stage (I also had to change browsers because Opera was telling me that my account wasn't accessible) - except the one where I had to enter my credit card for a free service! - to the point that I'm sending a message and an evaluation.

I test it regularly manually on @MastodonEngineering / #Mastodon because @Gargron et. al. can't be assed to implement proper feed URL support.

  • So far it works just fine with no big issues.

  • (It'll compain about the commented lines but if you just delete the empty & comment lines it'll just work out of the box)...

If you find a proper way to update (not replace/merge) blocklists via Mastodon's #API (without having to spin up a #git or similar) I'd love to see that, but alas the destructive nature of some devs kills any incentive for me to unfck this mess or even submit it to #GlitchSoc #developers...
