Stuart Humphryes, @official_babelcolour, cleaned & enhanced this autochrome taken at the first Paris Air Show, at the Grand Palais, by Léon Gimpel, on September 30th, 1909, less than 6 years after the Wright Brothers' first successful flight.

This is the autochrome's original colour, and has not been not colourised.

Для тех, кто в танке: #autochrome — это первая массово доступная система цветной фотосъемки от братьев Люмьер, 1903 год. В отличие от цветоделительной системы Прокудина-Горского и подобных, тут можно было всё купить в магазине и использовать сразу. Цвет получается за счет окрашенных частичек крахмала.

Didn't know about Lomochrome Purple. It has the subtle pastel tones of the old autochrome process, though the manufacturer does not seem to market it as such. Or is the secret in your processing? Either way, your Surf School photograph and its colours are an autochromistic masterpiece!

Marguerite #Mespoulet and Madeleine #Mignon, two very early color photographers, made 73 #autochrome #photographs in #Ireland in 1913 for Albert Kahn’s #ArchivesofthePlanet project. They are the first color photographs of Ireland and they include this stunning image of a 14-year-old girl in the village of Claddagh outside of #Galway.
The Irish photographs are not currently included in the digital archive of the #AlbertKahn Museum. My thanks to @anneeroper for letting me know about them.
