Any autocad nerds out there, I could use an assist. Somehow, my polar snap is locked to X, but it moves objects on the Y, and I really need to be able to orthosnap. I have tried f8, f10, gone into options and looked for anything sus there. I tried autocad knowledge base, to no avail. Any/ all suggestions welcome.
I was thinking about the recently #linux adoption by other nations, i believe this will increase the market share but for some reason i think there will be a lot of big developers (of many kinds of software) that will still refuse to offers a linux version... If those governments who made the switch to linux really wants to avoid at any cost using #windows at some point in the future the #EU will intervene to force companies like #Autodesk #CSI #Graphisoft to offer their products on linux too.
Man muss #Autodesk einfach lieben... Was die alles hinbekommen! Patches von morgen schon heute!

Does anyone here know of any good #Autodesk #Fusion360 tutorials?
My dad is trying to learn it. He’s got some background but isn’t that great with modern computers.
How #Windows looks to me as #Linux user:

@BrodieOnLinux @qdot I find this to be the worst way to decide a #TechStack.
#NetworkEffects are #toxic when it comes to #SaaS and #proprietary shite, regardless if the bad guys are #discord, #Autodesk, #Adobe, #Apple or #Microsoft for that matter. (Don't even get me started on #SAP & #Oracle!)…

But if I was wrong, I 'd not be called upon as a Linux #Sysadmin and to act as "#BenevolentDictator" in terms of Tech Stack Decisions...

Yes and no.
#Apple's #iPad makes it easy to test, build and sell #CCSS [commercial closed-source software] at a premium.
Simply because #Wacom makes good passive stylus and pen-capable touchscreens.
That's why #Autodesk won't even sell people a #Linux license for #Maya (or any of their other tools) unless one has proof of ownership of a certified workstation (i.e. HP Z-series) with a #RHEL [#RedHat] #Workstation #subscription active to begin with.
Compare that to like #AffinityDesigner on #iOS (or rather "#iPadOS") and the fact that basically all iPad users are expected to have an Apple account and credit card linked to it for the #AppStore and it's no wounder the developers of creative apps will focus on that.
The only exception are #FLOSS #apps that are native to Linux and/or got started on other #Unix Systems [#blender started out on #IRIX as CCSS] and serve #macOS & #Windows as 2nd & 3rd tier platforms [i.e. #darktable oftentimes had no Windows builds because none of the devs had or wanted a Windows machine to test on!]
@dragonminded I guess with #Autodesk enshittifying their toolchain with more and more expensive subscriptions did force a lot if folks to actually invest time and effort and money into #KiCad.
And yes, I still regret not having bought #Eagle when #CadSoft offered a #NonCommercial / #Hobbyist license for €125 one-time, cuz I'd still be rickin' that today.
I just finished EndVertex’s video essay on for-profit creative software, and it’s really good. Not only is it an insightful walkthrough by someone with lots of experience on the matter, it is also super entertaining, personal, and well-made, with animated sketches between each segment. I highly recommend watching it.
I need to re-post this animated video essay, just so I can find it again when I search for it...
