Don't waste valuable meeting time with lectures! Social production is the way to maximize learning that leads to significant, valuable, long-term change.
New podcast episode! Making good choices every day to promote health and wellbeing is challenging, but people with neurological conditions face additional barriers. Dr. Kim Waddell discusses her research using behavioral science to motivate adults who have had a stroke or have Parkinson's disease to increase their physical activity, her career path, influential mentors, life outside the lab, and more.
Hey #Bristol & #SouthWest UK folk who work in any form of #BehaviourChange and #SocialMarketing #communications....
Would you be interested in an informal monthly meetup in a cafe/pub/other space to chat, swap ideas, stories and "network"?
I'm pondering on starting something up in the city and trying to gauge interest...
If you're wondering, this isn't an idea solely for academics or those 100% engaged in #SocialGood agency work.
There are loads of folk who work to change behaviours - #NHS communicators, #LocalGovernment folk, #charity folk etc - who might not class themselves as 'behaviour change' types, but who nevertheless are working to create change.
Social Marketing practice has, at an academic level, often missed these practitioners out - so I want to change that!
Let me know what you think and maybe we can gather!

Another question (and I will try to reply to everybody responding, but sometimes it will take a while):
I am looking for research in the social domain regarding generational changes in mindset. For example: governments are working hard to change the mindset of young people regarding smoking. I am searching for a more general view regarding that mechanism and the ways it can be implemented to cause change.

If you're doing #BehaviorChange work or are active with #HarmReduction or other #Prevention efforts, you may like the recordings I made of a lecture I gave yesterday at Maastricht University about step 3 (and a bit about step 2) of #InterventionMapping:

(please boost, especially because I'm curious about that question )
