Our oldest daughter is now an 'adult' as far as Apple's family accounts thingy is concerned. We had a party, during which I poured some #prosecco - the first time any of us have ever tried it.

What's the appeal‽

Today in Labor History April 21, 1834: 30,000 workers marched for the freedom of six trade unionists who were transported to Australia from Tolpuddle, Britain. The Tolpuddle struggle, which began in 1832, marked the beginning of British trade unionism. For any of my #American friend's here who liked #Adolescence, I would like to recommend the movie 'This is England' (2006), and it's spin-off TV show.

The original British skinhead movement were whites rejecting long haired hippies, and instead integrating black music and culture into theirs. But. In the early 80's, Nazism corrupted skinhead youth and took it over....

This movie is a drama about a very young teen coming into skinhead culture at this time, and is conflicted by the two opposing views.

One of the main characters, a Nazi skinhead, is played by Stephen Graham, who also plays the dad in Adolesence - which an American audience might also recognise as playing Al Copone on HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

If you like 'This is England', then also consider the movie 'Dead Man's Shoes' by the same writer / director.
