Spent an enjoyable afternoon finishing another book of the "British Library crime classics" series, "Death in the tunnel" by Miles Burton.
A well constructed and written classical whodunnit, allows you to speculate at the same time as the detectives, just as I like it. My guesses were all correct. Highly recommended!
Seeing the author wrote about 140 crime novels I'm in serious trouble 😶
(well, will finish the Bellairs series first.)

For those who are interested in the #IsleOfMan #Manx and #ClassicCrime
Maybe you knew this already but there are several of #GeorgeBellairs detective stories featuring the Isle of Man. I found them very enjoyable to read and could even understand the examples of Manx words and placenames given in the books.
The first in this small Isle of Man series is "Death in dark glasses" which has maybe the best plot I've read by the author so far. I recommend reading them chronologically.

Same book, two verty different covers, one from 1978, one from 1952. Despite the apparent plainness of the design i prefer the 1952 green triband.
For many years Christie was seemingly relegated to the margins as a writer of 'pulpy' fiction, but now has regained her rightful place as a very insightful observer of 20th century society through her crime novels. One author we can never keep the used copies stocked up in. # agathachristie
