Finally moved my domains from #Cloudflare to #Scaleway. The only thing that held me back was email routing, but with #Fastmail instead of #Gmail I don’t need that anymore.

Question regarding static site hosting. I've been looking for options outside #GitHub Pages. #Codeberg has pages but it's in maintenance mode due to lack of developers, so I'm not sure about adopting it long term. I have a #Cloudflare account with pages, but it's kind of a pain to update. I'd prefer the "#git => pages" workflow similar to Codeberg or GitHub.

Any personal recommendations? Boosts are appreciated.

There is something odd about firefox on my desktop in that any site which has Cloudflare in front of it throws up the 'Verify you are human' screen. I fail to prove I am human every single time.

However, if I paste the URL into a private window, the site opens without issue and without the challenge.

Sorry folks but https://dnshistory.org/ now has Cloudflare "Under Attack" mode enabled - someone decided they'd request one page per IP to get around my rate limits and then hammered the crap out of the server .

when I see a #cloudflare interstitial that says "Verify you are human by completing the action below" I mentally xlate it to "Verify you care enough about this site's content to jump through this hoop".

Increasingly my answer is NO.

As long as #GDPR is taken into account, I think that pay-per-crawl might be a positive and constructive solution developed by companies like #Cloudflare, to solve the added cost of dealing with the increasing problem of uncompensated/for-profit webscraping in the era of generative AI.
