Oh my god how fucking amazing is Exandria Unlimited.... I am just in constant awe.
So far I only knew Campaign 3 (up to E60) and I love every bit of it. There is so much more content for me to explore
OMG I submitted a fan art drawing to critical role and they used it as the header image on the fan art page!
(it's a portrait of Taliesin and Ashley)
I’m in episode three of Critical Role: Exandria Unlimited. Aabria Iyengar is a great GM, but I think what makes EXU so amazing is Matt Mercer as a player. He’s dumping hundreds of episodes of pent up disruptive energy on her in just a handful of episodes. He’s here for the most mutually enjoyable payback he can possibly manage. #CriticalRole
The usual attempt to have coherent stories is what's wrong with them. Planning is stupid, stories don't work in RPGs. But this gibberish nonsense with a pig and Pan Man and loser scouts, works.
D&D as a game system is total shit for it, tho. Wizard, barbarian, etc, what the fuck. I might use Little Fears, or Witchcraft/All Flesh Must Be Eaten. Maybe Savage Worlds? Fast skill-based mechanics are the way to go here, since they're collecting "merit badges".
I often find CriticalRole super cringey and voice-actors-fucking-around dramatic bullshit, but Wildermount Wildlings, an adventure written by children, is much better than usual. The ending with a giant grill playset is excellent.

A new 10th Anniversary Critical Role (complete) Tarot card set was released yesterday and it's a been a long time since I've bought something that fast.
They've released Limited Major Arcana sets before but never full Major & Minor Arcana
Catching up on #CriticalRole, and based on the description of the bartender at Shank’s (the Titan asshole bar), I can only conclude that #DevinTownsend confirmed in Exandria.
TIL Marisha Ray from #criticalrole was a backup dancer in the intro for Nickelodean's Victorious
So, I've been listening to #CriticalRole for the first time.
First of all, if you've been bashing this group, shame on you, they're delightful.
Second of all, I get why this ended up being so popular. Obviously "a bunch of talented people play a fun game together" is a formula for success, but I did not expect to be quite so charmed by the players.
Grog reminds me of the phenomenon that all of my smartest players always play stupid characters. Dude is on point.
Just finished watching the last episode of #CriticalRole campaign 3. What an awesome, funny, and emotional ride!
Love all of those people, they are my kind of weird
Not puppies, but a compilation of Wil Wheaton's dice rolls during #CriticalRole campaign 1 and No Survivors at Geek and Sundries had me rolling on the floor laughing, so I call that a win.
Jestas.
