However, this crochet gift is very much loved!
Acrylic yarn throughout, some of it sparkly. No real pattern, though the cushion centre is loosely inspired by a squared spiral pattern I used ~10 years ago. The centre of the blanket is Tunisian crochet, worked in the round by using increases and decreases. The edgings are dc/sc (UK/US). The pips of the blanket are sewn-on appliques, and the cushion pips are embroidered.
Okay, going to be starting off with some #battlebeast . #crochetblanket is out and on my lap, let's get going! Don't forget to send me your own metal favourites to #craft or work to, I enjoy getting #recommendations ! #crochet #fibrearts #yarn #yarnlover #crocheting #metal #metalhead #musichelps
Part 11 - tried to take a progress shot but the pets had other ideas so here's Waffle, Ray and Pumpkin testing out the blanket!
Part 10 FINALLY complete!! This took me forever after having to undo the first attempt the lilac actually looks better so I'll keep telling myself it was for the best. Over halfway complete now and it's getting big!
My lap blanket made out of Tunisian crochet stitch pattern samples is nearly done.
I only have the tiresome, and boring, work of weaving in ends left, and attempt some kind of blocking of the blanket.
It's wonky and I love it. All squares are the same number of stitches and rows, but the different patterns build height/width differently.

Someone just shared this in a crafting Discord: the creator of the iconic granny square! #Crochet #CrochetBlanket #Crocheting https://pieceworkmagazine.com/the-first-granny-square-translating-the-1880s-crazy-quilt-trend-to-crochet/
I've only been #crocheting for 10 months and this is the first little blanket I made out of charity shop yarn. Fits in well with Mexican/Indian-style office/basement! Now I've found my true love in #freeformcrochet but thought I'd share my journey one project at a time.
Finally finished this throw turned full sized blanket crochet project. Very happy with how it turned out.
