This is cool!

"Pilet: Opensource, Modular, Portable Mini Computer"

kickstarter.com/projects/souls

A KickStarter for an open-source CyberDeck based on the Raspberry Pi and Linux. Actually 2 of them — a 5" version and a 7" version.

I love the retro look of these 🙂

Apparently this funded in 5 minutes! But, anyone can still get one.

I like that this also has a touch-screen. Many of the alternatives don't.

A past lost, a future denied

I've been taking a bit of a break from photography this month while I've been engrossed in other hobbies. Just about at the end of the month I finished a little personally project, a little personal computer made with a Raspberry Pi and a lot of 3d printing. This weekend this escalated to installing Linux almost all of my other computers, and, pretty soon, I think I'll have moved my social media presence fully here as well.

Does anyone know someone who uses a cyberdeck-style computer for music production / performance?

They look soooo cool. But sometimes I wonder if they are only built for showing off and people don’t use them. Could look super cool on stage!

Or is it all MacBooks and Thinkpads?

I seem to have a distinct allergy to doing things the simple way. I have found it difficult to get this tiny Fosmon Bluetooth keyboard to stay connected to a Raspberry Pi. And if my #cyberdeck dreams are ever to come true, I can't be lugging around another keyboard just to troubleshoot. So I have this bright idea there's a way to pair the keyboard to an esp32 and do HID to the Pi, like a passthrough device, sort of like the Logitech dongles. Unless there's a tiny USB keyboard out there.
