Post featuring the Yekatit 12 Monument, memorializing a pogrom by Italian occupiers on 19 February 1937 in Addis.

The monument’s bronze friezes were designed by Yugoslav #antifascist sculptor Antun Agustinčić, who worked with Ethiopian stained glass artist Afewerk Tekle. It was inaugurated in 1955 during Tito’s visit to the city.

Both #Ethiopia and parts of #Yugoslavia were occupied by fascist #Italy during WW2.
