plactagonicWe got a rest Sunday near Tábor at my friend's house, he was so nice to replace this bracket for the front rack. plactagonicSo it happened, I procrastinated so long with posting pictures that my phone died...Nothing is lost, they are on SD card but my backup phone doesn't have a slot for it. plactagonicYou know what they say about when you take something apart and put it together again that some bolts will remain unused, for me it was the through axel that didn't make it in to the box.Also I decided to take a bus, trains here don't take assembled bikes and since I had to disassemble it I decided to took night bus to Bilbao (probably the closest direct route to French border still 150km of riding to it). plactagonicI am unsure what to do next. The weather doesn't look that good in the next week but what bothers me more is the state of the route I would like to take. (Yeah they don't bother to sign them in Spain and it is really bad for EV routes). So I am considering taking the train to the French border and start riding there, at least on the official website it looks like it should be fully developed with signs and stuff. plactagonicToday my route was 105km, it sounds like a lot but more than 20km was by ferry. This ups my ferry count to 4.1st in the <a href="https://f.cz/tags/spain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#spain</a> where I thought it was a bridge, with the route overlay in OsmAnd I couldn't tell.2nd from Ayamonte to <a href="https://f.cz/tags/portugal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#portugal</a> 3rd and 4th today. I arrived to the first port 5 min after it left and had to wait for an hour. plactagonicLast few days from Tavira weren't the best, I rode few km on coast, smooth gravel and nice wood walkways then it is mostly golf courses and holiday resorts. I frequently lost the route so I couldn't ride what I had planned (I always was so frustrated by the resorts that I just ended early).Today I just rode from Lagos to Aljezur and skipped the Sagres. I didn't mind the small hills or little bit worse roads sometimes. plactagonicAfter I get drenched 2 days ago I just decided to stay in Tavira as I planned. So few km in <a href="https://f.cz/tags/Spain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Spain</a> and ferry in Ayamonte to <a href="https://f.cz/tags/Portugal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Portugal</a>.It was after the rain so some little issues on the road but nothing serious that couldn't be ridden around. The Via Verde del Litoral is flat and boring, yes it may look nice on the pictures but riding several km in straight line is soul crushing, I want hills (they will come).In Ayamonte I found out that I couldn't make it anyway because I wouldn't catch the last ferry. So it somehow worked out even with the setback.The difference on the Portugese side of border was immediately noticeable- on road it feels like a game of who can overtake me closer. plactagonicThe last 2 days in <a href="https://f.cz/tags/Spain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Spain</a> were mixed, I rode from El Rocío which has this wild west feel to it but I foolishly decided to rode through it on bike. It was bad idea all roads are this fine sand and lots of potholes, probably good for the horses but nearly unrideable on my bike. From there I got on the coastal route, that was nice separated or with little to no car traffic. That quickly changed before Huelva where the EV route goes through oil refinery and then suddenly change to highway with pretty nasty intersection.
