I did quite enjoy the part where they took so long to respond at one point my plasma desktop kicked into DPMS power saver and crashed and I had to literally hack into my own computer to recover the conversation before they kicked me off again

Just wasted an hour on .gov.uk wrestling with a chat service chasing up a tax refund THEY think they owe me but seem unable to process or give me any status updates for.
Was funnelled into a chat bot which ignored my input and put me through a basic dialog tree, answering things I provided up front. It then put me on hold for 25 minutes
Then a human operator who couldn't spell properly or phrase sentences longer than four or five words.
They proceeded to ask me "security questions" - comprising random cherry picked facts from previous filed returns, that were hard to comprehend, and fairly difficult to get right.
Then they told me I would need to get in touch with stronger ID - despite literally being logged into their secure website as myself in order to access the chat service.
The worst bit of the sort of red mist that descends enduring this failed-state bullshit is thinking of all the self-congratulatory GDS bloviating about their incredible world class agile digital transformation abilities I've had to endure over the years either in person or from smug thought-leadership puff pieces.
Just a)do the work and b)shut up about it.

1. We're the 70%+ majority. You leave. Russia has already invited you.
2. 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. They can't afford to leave.
3. Some of us are retired and/or disabled. We paid into #SocialSecurity for decades and are owed our money back, just as we were promised. We paid taxes with the promise that #Medicare and #Medicaid would be there when we needed it. It's our money.
We can't leave, so we have to fight for what we're owed, for each other, for the needs of the majority, for the United States to actually be as great as it pretends to be by joining every developed country by adopting universal healthcare, strong safety nets, and higher wages, instead of moving backwards into barbarism.
