MetikumiAs I wrapped up my plain geometric flower pots (ranging from hexagon to nonagon shapes), I started thinking about ways to make the sides more interesting. MetikumiAfter designing a triangular flowerpot, I wanted to explore other geometric shapes—so I created this pentagon-shaped one! MetikumiDesigning geometric flowerpots comes with its own challenges—especially the corners of the upper rim. MetikumiSpring is on the way—perfect time to start 3D printing some flowerpots! One of my first was this large pot, a blend of a rectangle and an ellipse for a unique look. It comes in heights from 160 to 300 mm and lengths from 180 to 355 mm, so there’s a size for every plant. Kaye RadBuried in a corner of my studio is a graveyard of hideous pots l've ruined trying to find the right bark glaze. Even after testing on smaller tiles and thinking they're the one, they don't always scale up the way you imagine. I found two glazes by mayco that work for what l need. The bottom is Winter Wood glaze, which can just be brushed on and is ready to fire. The top is a manganese wash, which has to be brushed on and then sponged off. With all the crags and texture it's a real journey. RIP to all my sponges.
