Du coup en refaisant ma recherche annuelle, je suis tombé sur une nouvelle appli qui s'appelle #organicmaps

On la trouve sur #fdroid ou #googleplay

Elle a l'air très compétitive avec #GoogleMap
La recherche est intuitive comme on attends.
Ce que j'ai trouvé top c'est de pouvoir ajouter très facilement une info publique. En l'occurrence ma salle de sport qui n'était pas référencée.
Le mode #velo #gps a un chiffrage du dénivelé et apercu du profil du terrain

間違えてクリックしてしまって、あせった。😅

…ってか3つ目に本物。4つ目も Google マップ詐称するサイトと…。本当地獄…。

Le fake comme moment du réel...

Au printemps, un collectif autrichien (Letzte Generation) a détourné l’application Google Maps pour donner à voir, à partir d’images modifiées (générées par IA) des principaux sites touristiques du pays, les impacts du changement climatique en se projetant en 2070.

Google n’a pas tardé à réagir et à supprimer ces photos de son application, rappelant « l’interdiction des contenus n’étant pas basés sur une expérience réelle ou ne représentant pas fidèlement un lieu ».

#Lokjo claim to be "the first worldwide & non-profit map from European soil" -- but doesn't that sound like they're describing #OpenStreetMap, which they're actually using on the map? 😆

Now that I've had another look, it doesn't really have a #GoogleMap feel to it, but I like that routing is built-in and POIs and routes are easily shareable, without having to send the recipient elsewhere.

Good grief. Google Maps is now pinning every map ad you happen to click and open while logged in for easy finding again, regardless of if you just clicked it to read a review or used the company. This place was a result of a craigslist advertisement of a local lawncare company ad. No relationship with me other than I clicked through to see the reviews in maps

No easy way to remove either other than going into your full map history

One of the niftier pictures I took was while walking around near the river. I kept hearing this chirp above me and when I looked up, there was the brown-headed cowbird that would make a single chirp and completely fluff up his body and spread out his wings and tail. I have no idea what or why this display, but he looked cool!

Part of the ACDSee program I use is it maps out all the locations when photos have geodata. I like how it just shows I wandered all over kingdom come today.
